Welcome to Standing Goat's Rescue
Welcome to Standing Goat's Farm and Rescue. Our mission is to take in goats that are injured, sick, unwanted, crippled, or whatever else may be wrong with them causing their owners not to want them anymore. We also rescue goats that are heading to slaughter. Once we receive a goat then we do an extensive evaluation on them to see what their needs are, and in what order we address their needs depending upon where it falls in the list of priorities. Once they have recovered from their issues, we begin training to teach them to become a companion animal. Then the last stage is to find them a loving forever home.
However, sometimes they never recover from their injuries, defects, or illnesses. In that scenario the goat will live out his/her life on our small farm.
We have several goats that are permanent members of our farm family...and they have been well trained so that we can take them to events or places in public. We have 5 goats that we take all over the place, and they thoroughly love to get out and go. Our farm is located roughly 45 minutes from Panama City Beach, Florida...and many of our goats have been to Pier Park as well as on the white sandy beaches of Panama City Beach. We get some bizarre questions and requests when we take the goats out to places like Pier Park, but its always a great time. The goats are extremely curious and they absolutely love the attention.
If any of you are considering getting an exotic companion animal such as a goat, then contact us at [email protected] and we will set aside a date for you to come meet our goat family. These animals have blessed us in more ways than we could ever have possibly been blessed by people....and we are so grateful for each day that we get to spend with them.
The purpose of our website is to bring attention to a type of animal that people seldom think about. Goats are considered only livestock by most people, and thats why you never hear anything about abused goats. Goat abuse is very real and it happens regularly all around us without anybody ever getting punished by law for it. If you see abuse or neglect happening to a goat, please dont go without saying something. Most people that abuse their goats will usually let you take it off their hands, then you will have no problems finding a home for it. We've taken in 13 goats this year as of this writing (April 15, 2018). we have found homes for all of them except for three!
We are supporting ourselves and 50+ goats on a disability check alone....and if it weren't for a few great people making donations for our goats, then we wouldnt be able to support ourselves. We have a couple links on the homepage for donations and there is no minimum amount required. Even one dollar is a huge help, but if you would rather donate feed or supplies then email us and we can make arrangements to make it happen. We certainly understand the hardships most of us are living with, so if your having a hardship...then please just send us a prayer (prayers are extremely important and needed!) From all of the goats and us here at Standing Goat's Farm and Rescue, we'd like to say thank you and God Bless each and every one of you!
Please stand up for the animals, all animals...they cant speak for themselves.
Shoot us an email if you plan on visiting Panama City Beach Florida and we will bring a few of the goats out to meet you.
Sincerely,
Don and Kim Miller
